The hero of the film, Xu Zhiqian, has believed in God for many years,
passionately expends for God, and forsook everything to perform his
duties. For this, he was arrested and tortured by the Chinese Communist
Party. After he was released from prison, he continued to perform his
duties, gained some practical experience, and his sermons and work
resolved some practical problems for his brothers and sisters. Later,
his wife was also arrested, but he didn’t complain, become negative, or
fall apart…. All of this earned him compliments and praise from his
brothers and sisters. Xu Zhiqian believes that he has the reality of the truth and that there is no problem entering the kingdom of heaven. But
soon, an unexpected trial came to him—his wife dies under torture by the
CCP police. Xu Zhiqian, distraught, has notions, misunderstandings, and
complaints about God, as well as thoughts of rebellion against and
betrayal of God…. Later, when he realizes he is betraying God, he begins
to reflect, and wonders if people who, like himself, undergo trials and
then complain, misunderstand God, and betray God are truly saved. Are
they truly qualified to enter the kingdom of God?

God's word | The Path … (1)
In their lifetime, no person knows what kind of setbacks they’re going to encounter, nor do they know what kind of refinement they will be subject to. For some it’s in their work, for some it’s in their future prospects, for some it’s in their family of origin, and for some it’s in their marriage. But what’s different from them is that today we, this group of people, are suffering for the word of God. That is, as someone who serves God, we have suffered setbacks on the path of believing in Him, and this is the path that all believers take and it is the road underneath all of our feet. It is from this point that we officially begin our course of believing in God, raise the curtain on our lives as human beings, and enter onto the right path of life. That is, it is when we enter onto the right path of God living alongside man, which normal people take. As someone who stands in front of God and serves Him, that is, someone who wears the robes of a priest in the temple, who has divine dignity and the authority and majesty of God, I make the following declaration to all people. To put it more clearly: The glorious countenance of God is My glory, His management plan is My core. I do not seek to gain a hundredfold in the world to come, but only to carry out God’s will in this world so that He may enjoy one small fraction of His glory on the earth due to the meager efforts I put forth in the flesh. This is My only desire. In My opinion, this is My only spiritual sustenance; I believe that these should be the final words of someone who lives in the flesh and who is full of emotion. This is the path underneath My feet today. I believe that this outlook of Mine is My final words in the flesh, and I hope that people do not have other notions or thoughts of Me. Although I have given it My all, I have still been unable to satisfy the will of God in heaven. I am immeasurably sad—why is this the essence of the flesh? So, because of the things I have done in the past as well as the work of conquering God has carried out on Me, only now have I gained a deeper understanding of the essence of mankind. Only since then have I set the most basic standard for Myself: to only seek to carry out God’s will, to give it My all, and to have nothing weighing on My conscience. I pay no mind to what requirements others who serve God have for themselves. In short, I have set My heart on carrying out His will. This is My confession as one of His creation who serves before Him—someone who has been saved and beloved by God, and who has suffered His blows. This is the confession of someone who has been watched over, protected, loved, and greatly used by God. From now on, I will continue down this path until I have completed the important task entrusted to Me by God. But in My opinion, the end of the road is imminent because His work has been completed, and as of today people have done all that they are able to do.

The Testimony of a Christian | Almighty God Led Me Onto the Path of Obtaining Cleansing

In 2007, due to a lot of pressure in my life, I came to Singapore by
myself to work to make a living. All year round, the climate in
Singapore is very hot, so every day I would sweat profusely when I was
working. It was so rough that I suffered an unspeakable amount, and on
top of that it was an unfamiliar life without any relatives or friends,
so I thought it to be boring and tedious. One day in August, I received a
gospel leaflet on my way home from work which read: “But the God of all
grace, who has called us to his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after
that you have suffered a while, make you perfect, establish, strengthen,
settle you” (1Pe 5:10). Seeing these words gave me a warm feeling in my
heart. Then a brother brought me to the church, and the brothers and
sisters welcomed me cordially and served me delicious food. I had worked
the better part of a year since leaving home, and the warmth of family
and delicious home cooked food was something that I hadn’t enjoyed in
such a long time. Since I was lonely and drifting aimlessly, hot tears
immediately welled up in my eyes, and in that moment I had the feeling
that I was back home. From then, the church was a place I need to go
every Sunday.

In the fall of 2002, Sister Zhao from my denomination, the Church of Truth, brought her niece, Sister Wang, to my home to tell me some great news that the Lord has come back. After a few days of reading the words of Almighty God and listening to the sister’s detailed fellowship, I understood that from the creation of the world until now God has performed three stages of work in order to save mankind. Other truths that I also came to know were God’s adoption of a different name during each stage of the work, the significance of God’s name for each age, and the mystery of God’s incarnation, etc. These truths really allowed me to open my eyes wide and see my fill. I said to myself: “It all sounds crystal clear, and Almighty God very probably is the returned Lord Jesus so I’d better make sure I grasp this chance and read more of Almighty God’s words.” Before leaving, Sister Wang left some books of God’s words for me. Whenever I had time during the day, I read God’s words. The more I read the more I loved reading them and the more I felt that they were the words of God. After three days I became anxious. I thought: “My son, who is also a believer, and many brothers and sisters in our church still don’t know this great news about the return of the Lord. I’d better hurry up and tell them.”

Xiaozhen's Story, a musical by The Church of Almighty God, has been the object of much attention and praise since its 2015 release, winning multiple awards at international film festivals. In October 2017, the film received nine awards at the Virginia Christian Film Festival, including best director, best feature film, and best musical score. Xiaozhen's Story once again stood out at the US KaPow Intergalactic Film Festival, winning the award for the best foreign experimental feature. This is the eighth time this film has received an award at an international film festival.

Afterward, when I heard that my sister was able to earn in five days what I earned in a month selling vegetables, I quit my job at the medicine factory and went to sell vegetables. After a period of time, I found that I could make even more money selling fruits, so I decided to start a business selling fruits. After I married my husband, we started a restaurant business. I thought that now that I had a restaurant, I would be able to earn even more money. Once I could earn a considerable amount of income, naturally, I would win other’s admiration and regard. Other people would start looking up to me and at the same time, I would be able to live a better life. However, after operating the business for a period of time, I discovered that I was actually not making a lot of money. I started getting anxious. When would I be able to lead a life that others would admire?
